Fresh Easter Decor – 2019

March 27, 2019 by Danielle 2 Comments

Today I’m sharing a few of my favourite finds for Easter. I am slowly creating holiday decor collections for our home. I like curating my decor over time. I’ve already started buying a few new pieces for Easter. So today I thought I would share some of the items I’m loving for Easter!

Easter Decor.jpg

Floral Dinnerware – I love my classic white dinnerware, but I like adding fun plates and glasses to refresh my table for every season. I’m in love with these floral plates! I think buying half a set and placing them at every other place setting would be the perfect way to infuse fresh florals into your table scape without breaking the bank!

Egg Decor – Ok I loved decorating eggs when I was a kid but that’s not really my cup of tea anymore. So I’ve started collecting glass eggs to display around the house. I love these pastel ones!

Linen Napkins – I love a cloth napkin! I know it’s a little extra but I love them. Both of my Grandma’s used them and I loved rolling them and setting the table. I got linen napkins as a wedding gift and we use them all the time. I think these pretty pink ones would be perfect for Easter!

Pastel Candles – When I came across these tiny tapers I fell in love. I’m not much of a taper fan, but these may have just converted me. Seriously cute and along a long table. Perfection!

Candy Dish – I love a festive candy dish! And without one what would you put the mini eggs in? That’s a serious question. I think this is super cute and functional!

Place Card Holders – Ok I’m a fan of a seating plan. I’m kind of a master of them! Not to brag but many people told me how good I planned the seating for our wedding. I think it’s fun to put out name cards for holidays and events. Simple printable cards are what I use, so a fun festive holder is a must! Bunny ears! How adorable! I also love the mix of natural wood with the pastels whites and florals.

Ok guys, there you have it, my picks for Easter decor!

Springtime Favourites!

Happy first day of Spring!

Spring Collage.jpg

The sun is shining, the temps are rising and I think my parka is officially away for another season. I’m very excited to brighten and lighten our home and my wardrobe! So today I’m sharing a few of my favourite things for spring!

Dresses – Seriously excited to ditch the heavy pants and knit dresses. I’m excited to break out all my lightweight dresses and even add a few to my collecting. Like this one from Gal Meets Glam!

Wreaths – Wreaths are not just for Christmas! I love boxwoods for spring and summer. They really brighten the front door! This one is a great price!

Dining – I love to break out some fun dinnerware for spring, it’s so fun and perfect for the patio! I think it’s the only way I can get pink in my house without my husband making a stink! I love this ceramic little market collection!

Pillows – I love changing my pillows for Spring! This one is perfect for spring without being too bright and flashy!

Baskets – Spring means spring cleaning and spring organizing! So give me all the baskets to hide my crap! This one is the exact size I’ve been hunting for and it goes perfect with my house!

Ok guys! There you have it my must haves for Spring!

St. Patrick’s Day: Party Must Haves!

March 6, 2019 by Danielle Leave a Comment

StPatrick's Day Party.jpg

St. Patrick’s Day is less than two weeks away. If your planning to celebrate, or throw a party I’ve got your party must haves covered. If you know me you know I love a celebration. I put up some sort of decorations for every holiday. Dress up whenever required and love a festive meal or drink! So let’s break down my St. Patrick’s Day must haves!

The Goods:

Balloons: Festive balloons are a must at every party. You could even make a balloon arch. Or go the easy route (that’s normally my jam!) and buy a set. Like this one. So festive and perfect to go over your dessert table, or bar cart.

Banners: Now let’s infuse your house with GREEN! This three pack of clover banners is perfect to infuse the house with St. Patrick’s day spirit. Hang them above your windows, on your mantle, from the ceiling, and maybe in doorways. Anywhere festive!

Bar: I love a self serve bar! They are perfect for a crowd. I love gold and green for St. Patrick’s Day so naturally a gold bar cart is a must. It looks like gold is here to stay, but if your hesitant (or have a husband who says it’s too girly!) this one is a killed deal!

Drinks: Now on your bar cart, Irish whiskey and Guinness are must haves. Personally I love a whiskey decanter. It’s perfect for displaying on your bar cart year round, but at St. Patrick’s day whiskey is the only thing to fill it with. This is my favourite traditional decanter with a modern twist. The other must have is Guinness. Fill an ice bucket with bottles of Guinness a place it on the bottom level of your bar cart. It’s a perfect self serve bar set up.

Decor: Gold coins add a fun touch of whimsy. Scatter them around the house. Maybe even find a decorative pot and make your own pot of gold (who needs a Leprechaun). Bonus points if the coins are actually chocolate!

Favours: These rainbow lollipops are such a fun favour and fit perfect with a St. Patrick’s day theme. They also infuse extra colour into your decor. They are also delicious!

Ok guys those are my St. Patrick’s Day party must have. This Friday we will be talking my favourite festive food!

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide: Him & Her

February 6, 2019 by Danielle Leave a Comment

Valentine’s Day is one of my favourite holidays! I think it’s such a fun day to show your loved one’s that you love them. Single or in a relationship there are lots of fun ways to celebrate.

Coming on Saturday is my recipe for heart shaped linzer cookies which are a super fun sweet treat to enjoy with loved ones on Valentine’s Day. For a sneak peak check out my instagram! I’ll also be sharing how we are celebrating Valentine’s Day and how we have celebrated in the past.

Today I am sharing his and hers gift guides. These are some great ideas for your husband, wife, galentine, best buddy or even your parents! My husband doesn’t read my blog, but I might have to send him the link to this post!

Men's Vday Gift Guide

one / two / three / four / five / six

I’m really obsessed with the men’s gift guide and a lot of the gifts are unisex and just simply awesome!

  1. Watches are always a great gift and I love Daniel Wellington watches because they are super classic.
  2. Beats Headphones, don’t we all want beats head phones? We were late adapters to wireless headphones and seriously I don’t know why we waited so long! These over the hear Beats Headphones would be such a great upgrade!
  3. Yeti mugs are so great! We use travel mugs daily and I love Yeti because they are dishwasher safe!! Say what?! Yep you heard me! Men are practical so providing them with upgrades to items they use daily is always a safe bet.
  4. We have one Bose bluetooth speaker that we move all over the house to listen to music. The sound quality is fantastic and we love it!
  5. We take coffee very seriously in my house! We have a drip coffee maker, Nespresso and until recently a french press. Our french press broke recently and we’ve been looking for a good manual coffee maker to replace it. I think this pour over brew would be a great option!
  6. I have been a fan of Herschel Supply Co. for years now. I carried their backpacks in college. They are also Canadian which makes my heart happy! I think this bag it the perfect size for a weekend getaway and we need more of those!

Woman's Vday Gift Guide

one / two / three / four / five / six

I love that the gifts for the ladies are sweet, fun and romantic. Perfect for the special lady in your life or your Galentine!

  1. Victoria Secret PJ’s are my absolute favourite! They are worth every penny in my opinion. I have the pant version of this set and I’m obsessed! The adorable short version is on my wish list.
  2. I have a serious sweet tooth and gummy candies are my weakness! Of course Sugarfina takes candy to the next level and I can’t get enough (send me all the champagne bears!)
  3. Diptyque are one of my favourite candles to give and receive as gifts. There is something so elegant and special about them. They also go with everyone’s decor. I think the Baies scent is perfect for Valentine’s day.
  4. Silk pillow cases are fantastic for your skin and your hair. Since switching to silk I noticed a huge difference in my hair. I struggle with serious fizz and this has decreased the frizz so much! What I love about the Slip pillowcases is that they are machine washable! No one have time to dry clean a pillow case!! I also think receiving a silk item from your significant other on Valentines day is very romantic!
  5. I love the whole Barefoot Dreams line and I know I’m not the only one! It’s crazy how soft their products are. I have a cardigan from their line and I can’t get enough. So their blankets are on my wish list and is such a great indulgent gift to receive.
  6. I love to diffuse essential oils so a diffuser is a great gift that’s not only practical but provides ambiance to your space making it a romantic and special gift.

There you have it gift guides for the special men and woman in your life!

Ok guys this is my very last gift guide before Christmas! I’m a little sad since I’ve enjoyed making these for you. I hope your Christmas shopping is going well and you’re not too stressed! If you need more gift ideas and missed the other two gift guides check them out here, and here. Now let’s get into it!

one / two / three / four / five / six

Just like the last gift guide everything on this list is either something I own and love or something on my own wish list!

  1. This book teaches you a super scientific method of cooking, and although I believe it having fun and not stressing and throwing out the rulebook in the kitchen. I think a book like this will help anyone tighten up their skills take a typical home cook to the next level. Also the friend chicken sandwich in this book is heaven, it worth it for the sandwich. The Food Lab.
  2. I love Joanna Gaines, her style, her personality and her family. And I love that she is a home cook sharing her favourite recipes. I think it’s really fun to see a home cook come out with a book like this.  Magnolia Table.
  3. No cookbook gift guide is complete without including Chrissy Teigan’s second book. Not only is she a girl after my own heart with her love of cheese. But it’s the perfect book for pop culture lovers. Even someone who doesn’t cook would enjoy this book.  Cravings Hungry for More.
  4. This is a super fun cocktail book. All the drinks have fun literary based names! Plus who doesn’t want to try a new cocktail. This is a perfect hostess gift too! Tequila Mockingbird.
  5. I got this book at my bridal shower along with my cast iron pan, and thank goodness! I was terrified to start using the pan until I read this book and understood how to treat my new baby. And on top of all the cast iron care tips I love the recipes. It really expands your mind as to what you can do with cast iron. Cook In Cast Iron.
  6. No list is complete with out the queen Ina! She is impeccable in every way. I watched her cook like a pro series and loved that she shows you how to use your skills as a home cook to wow guests. It helps you thin outside the box when entertaining. And I just love Ina, Jeffery and her roast Chicken! Cook Like a Pro.

Ok that’s it! My last gift guide for 2018! Now go finish your shopping!

Gift Guide for the Baker

Ok guys we are talking gifts for the baker today. This is the second post in my gift guide series for 2018. I can’t believe we’re getting so close to Christmas, but there is still time to finish your shopping! So let’s jump right into the gift guide!

one / two / three / four / five / six

Just like the last gift guide everything on this list is either something I own and love or something on my own wish list!

  1. I love cake stands! I think they are so fun and this one with the wood and glass dome would be perfect to leave out on your counter full of muffins or treats! Libby Wood Cake Stand
  2. A Kitchen Aid mixer is a must for any baker! I think this is the perfect model for a home baker. For our first Christmas my husband (then boyfriend) bought me a Kitchen Aid Classic mixer. I cried on Christmas morning I was so happy! I had wanted one since I was a kid watching Martha and Ina! (totally normal right?) Since mines a Classic model I have taken to upgrading its attachments over the years, but  if I ever have to replace it I will buy this one! KitchenAid Artisan Series
  3. I love decorative bakeware and Emile Henry makes beautiful pieces. I can’t wait to add to my collection. Fluted Loaf Pan
  4. These cookie sheets are perfection. My Grandma always used AirBake cookie sheets, so I use AirBake cookie sheets. I swear it’s impossible to burn your cookies. AirBake Cookie Sheets
  5. So this one has been on my list for a while… since I saw Martha use them when I was 8. Why didn’t I watch cartoons? Anyway, I would like to be a bit more green in 2019 and one easy way to do that is cut down on the amount of parchment paper I use. So I will be switching to Silpat, and fulfilling my life long dream to be more like Martha. Silpat Baking Mat
  6. I got this french rolling pin as a bridal shower gift and I love it! It’s so easy to use, it’s light, super affordable and it’s chic. I think Ina would approve (ok this is turning into TV chefs I admire). French Rolling Pin
  7. This USA sheet pan with cooling rack is probably one of my most used kitchen items. I use it for many recipes from making bacon in the oven to crisping up leftover pizza and it’s a must in my BBQ-less BBQ Chicken! I am slowly but surely getting all my friends and family to buy this awesome sheet pan combo! It’s easily my most used wedding gift! USA Sheet Pan and Rack

Ok everyone that’s it for the Bakers Gift Guide! Come back next Wednesday for my cookbook gift guide!
